Official Pecan Festival Web PageTo all friends of the Mansfield Wind Symphony, and to all members (current, former, and future).
As you may have heard, there have been numerous, dramatic changes to the Mansfield Wind Symphony. Our esteemed conductor, John Julian, has stepped down as musical director and conductor. His devotion, dedication, and professionalism as our conductor will be missed. Thank you, John, for all that you have done for us! I am extremely pleased to hear that you will be joining the MWS Trumpet section when you recover from your recent surgery. WE LOVE YOU MAN!!!!
The president of the MWS, Bill Myers, has also stepped down after 8 years of service. Thank you, Bill, for without you, MWS would not exist. You have dedicated and sacrificed so much, both personally and financially, to make MWS function. I am very happy to hear that you plan to continue as a member of the MWS Euphonium section
I am proud to announce that the new conductor of the Mansfield Wind Symphony is Renee Goodwin. Renee had served as an associate conductor and was a previous member of the MWS French Horn section, and has been an accomplished director and associate director in the Mansfield ISD. Congratulations, Renee! And Welcome!
There are many, exciting changes, to not only the organization, but to how we function as a group. The future of MWS looks bright and I am excited to share the news with all of you. Please spread the word to all members, past and present. Our concert schedule and rehearsal schedule will be posted soon. I look forward to seeing you all!
Sincerely,
Dana Rivard, Mansfield Wind Symphony President
